Day of Remembering

Manshu

The front page of The New York Times for Sunday, May 24th, 2020, printed a long list of names of 1000 American people who had fallen victims to the Covid-19 pandemic. The shocking visual of the page deeply saddened Manshu, who then wrote the poem to commemorate the tragic moment. Accompanying the poem. Manshu also painted a watercolor, depicting the grayish sky, darkened hills and faded sunlights.

The poem is also shown in two kinds of traditional Chinese Calligraphy, 篆体 and 颜体, at the bottom of the page. Please enjoy.
